You make so many great points here. You are right that the money trail still hasn’t quite followed all the way into the new models yet for this to get reorganized. But it is slowly happening. The challenge for me with like Hulu and Netflix is they are both so broad, “just because it’s on Netflix” isn’t enough of a recommendation for me in the way NBC, FX, etc felt like it used to be.
The main takeaway for me is realizing that we are inevitably going to be watching the same things because we run in the same circles and the quality will spread through our groups. I hope there is a way for this to centralize more and get easier — it’s also hard to remember at the point of watching “what was that thing everyone told me to watch?”.
