The thing is — the companies that do make the grants worthwhile, those last 8–10 years or more. I know a ton of people who are still at Facebook and Google and never thought they would be there that long but the job keeps being new and interesting. So if you end up on one of those companies you want this type of grant and if not, you should bail anyways.
