I think you want to treat anything you work on as a product and not just a project. To me a key difference in product management vs project management is working towards the goals of the user experience and user benefits you are aiming to deliver vs just tracking to completion. That said — all of the best project managers I have ever worked with focus on the goals and impact of the product and not just completion. So maybe there isn’t much of a difference anyway!
