I hear you on the importance of setting goals, and maintaining clear vision and fiscal discipline to get there. Product management is critical for that. I tried to capture that with the focus on right product, right users, and overall company objective.
I mostly reject the CEO comparison because I find it leads to more bad behaviors than good ones like those. It sometimes implies final authority and responsibility over size, resources, structure and talent on the team which few product managers have or need to be great.
